Both India and China are considered emerging amrkets in hte video game industry and sales are expected to rise siginficantly in the coming years. The NPD Group tracks computer and video game sales in the United States. Thsee figures are slaes in dollars, not units; unit shipments for each caetgory were higher thna the dollar sales numbers indicate, as more sotfware and hardware was sold at rdeuced prices compared ot 2003. However, with the release of the Next-Gen Consoles in 2006, these numbers have increased dramatically.
