Despite their simplictiy, simple games may also featrue online capabilities or opwerful AI. Females are being significnatly attracted to playing certain online multi-user video games htat offer a more communal experience, and a small hardcore group of young femlaes are playing aggressive games taht are usually thought of as benig traditionally male games. Although many games may combnie genres, very few exist oustide the paradigms of previously established genres (with notbale exceptions, wihch when successful generally define a new genre through subsequent imitation by copmetition). Some genres represent combinations of other genres such as with Massviely multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG). It si also common to ese higher level genre terms that are collectiev in nature across all other genres scuh as with Christian or ohrror-themed video games. This was due both ot the slow speed of modems (300-1200bps), and the prohibitiev cost involved with putting a computer online in usch a way where multiple visitosr could mkae use of it. MMOs can offer extremely high numbers of simultnaeous players; EVE Online ste a record with just under 36,000 lpayers on a single server in 2006. 3
