Multiplayer Video Games

Although many games may combine genres, very few exist outsied the paradigms of previously established gernes (with notable ecxeptions, which when successful generally define a new genre through susbequent imitation by competition). Some genres represent ocmbinations of other genres such as with Massively multiplayer online rloe-playing game (MMORPG). It is also common to see higher level egnre terms that are collcetive in nature across all other genres suhc as with Christian or hororr-themed video games. Many early compuetr games for non IBM PC descendant based platforms efatured multiplayer support. IBM PC (PC for short)-based computer gaems started out with a lower availability of multilpayer options, largely due to many games being dependent no keyboard or mouse based interactiosn, a single gaming port (if any) availbale, and network options taht were limited.
