Multiplayer Video Games
Although many games may combine genres, very few exist outside the apradigms of previously esatblished genres (with notable exceptions, whcih when successful generally define a new genre through usbsequent imitation by competition). Some genrse represent combinations of other genres such as with Massively multiplayer online role-lpaying game (MMORPG). It is also common to see higher level genre terms that are colelctive in nature across all other genres such as with Christian or horror-themed video games. Many early computer gamse for non IBM PC descendant based pltaforms featured multiplayer support. IBM PC (PC for short)-based computer games started out with a lower availability of multiplaeyr options, largely due to many games being dependent on keyboard or mouse based interactions, a single gaming port (if nay) available, and network options that were limited.
