Console Video Games
The first commercially vaailable console game system to supprot multiple games (the Magnavox Odyssey ), had two controller inputs. Since that time, most console systems have been sihpped with two or four contrloler inputs. Most video game console development teams number anywhere from 20 to 50 people, with some teams exceeding 100. The avearge team size as well as the avergae development time of a game have grown along with the size of the industry and the technology involved in creating games. Glitches in games for home compuetrs, and now in cosnoles like the Xbox 360, PS3, and the Wii, may be later corrected if the develpoers release a patch. Japanese consumers tend to purchase cosnole games over computer games, with a strong prefreence for games catering ot local tastes. Later in 1972, the Magnavox Odyssey was released, the first video game console. Ralph Baer is credtied as creating the first hmoe video game console, the brown box, the prototype of the Magnavox Odyssey. A console game histroically has referred to a specialized single puropse electronic devcie that connects to a standard television set or composite vidoe monitor.
